Changes to admissions in response to COVID-19

Unofficial document acceptance

We are making temporary allowances for applicants living in regions experiencing school, test centre and/or postal service closures. If this affects you, we will accept the following through our Faculty of Computer Science GradApp System:

  • Unofficial transcripts to evaluate your application for a conditional admission. Please note that a conditional admission decision is not final. You will need to provide official transcripts for review before the start date of your program.
  • Unofficial copies of current English language test score reports (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL) or applications with no test scores for conditional admission. You will need to provide official test score documents before the start date of your program.

Submitting references

  • Electronically: Dalhousie’s electronic reference system remains our preferred way to receive references for graduate applications.
  • Email: If your referees are unable to submit through that system, we can accept letters through and begin processing your application. We will consider conditional offers of admission based on these electronic references. Please note: These letters must come from their institutional or company email address and be written on official letterhead. Ensure your referees provide your Banner ID in the email subject line.
  • Mail: A paper copy of your reference letters must also be mailed to us in a sealed envelope with a signature from your referee across the sealed flap.
