My account

General questions

Your Dalhousie NetID provides access to DalOnline, MyDal, Microsoft 365 Email, Brightspace, computer labs, and many other services.

Completing the form on the My Account page will initiate the one-time process that will activate your account. Complete details about the process will be displayed after submitting.

With your NetID and password you are able to log in and see all your DalCard account details (NetID login required).

For more about your account balances, see the Your Account page.

Once you have replaced your card, the old one can no longer be reactivated or used. You must always use the most recent card. If your card is lost and you need it replaced, visit our  Lost or damaged card page

If you find your card before having it replaced, you can reactivate it on your account (NetID login required).

None of your personal information (address, phone number, gender, marital status, etc.) appears printed on the DalCard. That data is managed and can be changed by contacting the Registrar’s Office (admissions@dal.ca) for students or Payroll (payroll@dal.ca) for staff/faculty.

First, try not including the “@dal.ca” portion. You can troubleshoot your NetID on your own online.

Lastly,  helpdesk@dal.ca can provide assistance.

You may fill out information on the Request a refund page. There is a $25 administration fee that will be withheld from your refund. Refunds are processed in December, April, and August.

After the request is processed, please allow up to 20 business days for the funds to be deposited in your account.

PIN setting/use

Your PIN is a personal 4-digit numeric code used in conjunction with your DalCard to gain building access when applicable.

Your PIN is private. It should be set by yourself by logging in online (NetID login required), then selecting “Manage Campus ID” > “Change your card PIN”.  Enter your 4-digit numeric PIN and enter it again. That’s it!
