Please check back and continue to monitor your email and our social channels for updates regarding New to Dal Agricultural Campus programming. 

New to Dal AC programming will be held in-person on our Agricultural Campus in Truro. Students will have access to additional supports and information virtually. Online components can be accessed at dal.ca/brightspace

Get involved with New to Dal to win prizes! Students can earn points towards the New to Dal Cup or House Points by attending and checking into events on their DalMobile App. Information sessions will offer door prizes, so you could walk away with some Dal gear following events. 

The 2023-24 NTD schedule is still under construction. Please note that event information may be updated as needed throughout July and early August. Any major changes to the schedule during New to Dal weekend will be shared with students via Instagram and the DalMobile App

Pay Tuition and DalCard Pick-up 

 

Tutition and fees are due on January 22nd, 2024 for the winter term.

On-campus students will pick up their DalCard when checking in to campus housing. Off-campus students will need to pick up their DalCard from Enrolment Services

Please remember to submit your photo for your DalCard prior to arriving on campus.

Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 1:00pm, 2:00pm - 4:00pm (regular hours)

Shop for Textbooks and Dal Gear

 

Drop-in during store hours to purchase course textbooks, school supplies, and Dalhousie-branded items.

Info about required texts can be found at the Bookstore or in course outlines provided by instructors. Students may wait to purchase textbooks until after attending their first class.

New To Dal Check-in and Welcome Pack Pick-up

Undergraduate students only

Check-in to New to Dal to earn your first prize entry and pick up your welcome pack. Stop by Student Sucess during your first week of classes. 

Your pack contains items to help you participate in NTD events and is filled with Dal gear, and give-away items from the local community.

Campus Community Expo & Welcome Whether you are new to campus or looking forward to graduating in the coming Spring, there is something for everyone at the winter edition of our Campus Community Expo! Connect with campus supports at the fair, or pop-in to the Alumni Theatre to learn more about campus opportunities. Student Success team members along with Academic Advisors will be available to chat over hot chocolate and snacks at the welcome reception.

International Welcome 

SIN Application

A representative from Service Canada will be on campus to process Social Insurance Number application for all international students.

No appointment needed. Drop-ins welcome. 

Bus departs from Jenkins Hall at 6:00pm

Bearcats Hockey Game

 

Hang out with other first year students in the Pye’s Skybox and cheer on the local Junior ‘A’ Hockey Team. Transportation, tickets and snacks provided. Registration is required.  Space in the skybox is limited so be sure to register early. 

Open to new and returning students but priority will be given first to new students starting in the winter, and then to students who started in the fall.

DASA's Winter Carnival

 

Join Dalhousie Agricultural Student Association (DASA) for a fun week of winter activities! Past year's have included skating at the civic square, Meet the Dean, and Trivia. Follow them on Instagram @dasa_ac or check out their website, dalaggies.ca, for more details.

Term planning with your Syllabi Drop-in or book an appointment to meet with a Writing Tutor or Peer Advisor to start building your winter term study plan. Be sure to bring your course outlines or syllabi to the session. You will be using key assignment due dates to help structure your term. Students will be guided through how to build either a digital or physical term schedule. If you have an agenda or calendar you prefer to use please bring it with you. Laptops are required for students wishing to set-up a digital system.

Writing in University 101 The AC Writing Centre team can help all students build their skills and learn new tools to take their writing to the next level! In this session, the Writing Advisor will review all the services the Writing Centre provides, tips for improving writing, and avoiding academic integrity issues. The session will also include a mini-tutorial on using Zotero to improve your workflow and build citations and references.
