Student lines of credit
A student line of credit is a flexible loan from a bank that lets you borrow what you need, when you need it. You only pay interest on what you use.
You’ll start paying interest right away
Depending on your age, you may need co-signer. By co-signing, they are agreeing to be responsible for paying back the loan if you are unable to.

Student banking resources
Most Canadian banks offer tools and services designed for students—like lines of credit, student accounts, and budgeting support—to help you manage your money while you study.
If you’re exploring your options, these are a few places to start:
Receiving your loan funding
Most student loans are processed electronically by the Registrar’s Office shortly before classes begin. To avoid delays, register in all required courses for the terms covered by your loan.
Once your loan is approved, you can track it in Dal Online (Student Awards and Financial Aid tab).
