About this resource

The Faculty of Agriculture is home to the Bicentennial Botanical Garden, named in honour of Dalhousie’s 200th anniversary in 2018 and known as the Faculty of Agriculture’s largest classroom, providing many hands-on learning opportunities for students and researchers alike.

Boasting nearly 11 hectares of extensive plant collections, the gardens are home to:

   - A rock garden
   - A pollinator meadow
   - The Alumni Gardens
   - A chef’s and herb garden

Bicentennial Botanical Garden launch

The Bicentennial Botanical Garden is a commemorated 11 hectares of unique and diverse features, including wide-ranging plant collections as well as the largest Rock Garden east of Montreal. Shade, herb and bulb gardens, a butterfly meadow, an apple orchard and more all help beautify the busy campus.
