Dalhousie’s Office of Sustainability works to incorporate sustainability concepts and criteria into policy and planning, building and retrofit projects, and operations. The Office strives to engage and encourage student, staff, and faculty in practicing sustainable behavior. Metrics of Progress
Dalhousie has invested 98 million dollars in energy, water and waste reduction measures in the last decade. Changes are tracked via metering and data collection and is benchmarked through several international ranking systems. Student Action & Initiatives
The Dalhousie Student Union Sustainability Office (DSUSO) and other Student Actions & Initiatives encourage climate change awareness and support students’ food security and social and environmental action. To encourage communication within the Dalhousie student community, DSUSO acts as a hub to identify, assess, and address challenges of environmental sustainability on campus.
