Commuter Challenge - June 2018
The Commuter Challenge is a week-long event during Canadian Environment Week in which cities and workplaces compete to encourage Canadians to leave their cars at home and reward those who are walking, cycling, carpooling, and taking transit.
This year, the Commuter Challenge runs from June 3 - 9, 2018. Sign up as a Dalhousie University employee on the official website and share your commute! During the week, participants track the distances they traveled and their mode of transportation. At the end of the week, participants receive a summary that illustrates total impact for the transportation used (calories burned, fuel saved, and CO2 emissions avoided). The Dalhousie participant who logs the longest commute will be entered to win an Instant Sustainability Award.
The Dalhousie Office of Sustainability is please to offer Trip Planning Services by appointment June 4 - 8 between 11:30 - 1:30. If you do not feel comfortable walking, cycling, or taking transit in Halifax, we welcome you to make an appointment. A dedicated Trip Planner will help you plan your route. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for an appointment time.
