Addressing report recommendations

Feb. 4, 2020

Dal received the Lord Dalhousie Panel’s scholarly report last year, a document that contained a number of recommendations for the university.

As a starting point towards addressing these recommendations, Dal has undertaken a number of new initiatives in recent months. The university will expand upon the work of the Lord Dal Panel by inviting scholars and historians of slavery to campus for a conference organized in collaboration with University of King's College, it is beginning the process of transforming its Black Studies minor into a major, and it is hiring a director of community engagement to develop strategies to serve African Nova Scotian communities.
