Pets of Dalhousie: Meet Bella and Blue
Bella and Blue, are a pair of Chihuahuas who live with Natalie Shires, executive assistant and operations manager in Facilities Management.
(Find information on how to submit your own pet's profile at the bottom of this profile).
Names: Bella (white/tan) and Blue (blue merle, of course)
Nicknames: Bella Bean, Bell-Bell, Bells, Belly and Blue Barry, Blue Boy
Fave food: Both go crazy for cheese. And with those ears, cheese wrappers can be heard from 10 miles away!
Special tricks: They don’t really do official tricks, but… Bella is one of those “don’t EVER stop” dogs who taps you constantly with her paw if you stop petting her. She has the “puppy dog eyes” thing down to a science, too. Blue likes to roll over on his back and have you pick him up like a baby and be cradled. Although he can get up and down from the bed himself, he will get down for a drink at night, come back and look at you from the floor until you make eye contact, and then drop and roll on his back and wait for you to get up, scoop him up in cradled position and put him back in bed under the covers. Spoiled to the core!
Best quality: These two live like royalty in what we’ve dubbed “The Chi Palace” (aka our house). They also attend Petite Urban Pooch daycare once a week to keep them socialized. Both are mini-cling-ons and are very loyal. They love to cuddle, especially under a blanket or inside your housecoat. If there is a warm spot around, you’ll find them there! Blue makes the sweetest “snort of contentment” if you rub him with your foot under the blankets at night. It warms my heart every time!
Social media platform or handle, if available: They don’t have one. The only “social media platform” these two are associated with is the back of the chair they lay on in front of the window to watch what’s happening in the community. Does that count?
