Olive the greyhound.
Olive the greyhound.

Olive is a greyhound who lives with Melissa Helwig, a librarian at the W.K. Kellogg Health Sciences Library

Name: Olive (aka Secret Agent Mya)

Nickname: Turkey, Schnickelfritz, “The Precious”. Her racing name was Secret Agent Mya so some friends call her Secret Agent Olive.

Species/breed: Greyhound. She was born in Florida and raced in Palm Beach, Florida before coming to Nova Scotia to be adopted in November 2019.

Age: She just turned five in December, her gait makes her seem a little older as pre-adoption she suffered a leg break.

Fave food: She loves all food but sardines, marshmallows, and peanut butter are favourites.

Special tricks: Olive has mastered "lay down" and she is great at making friends with the neighbours who have treats in their pockets.

Best quality: Olive is a wonderful mix of happy, goofy, and sassy. She is a master at cleaning out the final bits of a peanut butter jar before it gets recycled. She also is known for her expert roaching (sleeping on her back with all 4 legs in the air) on the day bed in my office.

Social media platform or handle, if available: Her Instagram account is: @bluenose_olive
