3 Minute Thesis

Take the stage and present your research

The annual 3 Minute Thesis competition brings together the Dalhousie community to give graduate researchers a platform to share and celebrate your ideas and compete for $4,000 in cash prizes.

But there's a catch. You only get 180 seconds to make your pitch.

First developed by the University of Queensland, 3MT competitions are held in over 600 universities worldwide. 2020 saw over 80 graduate students from across Dalhousie participate in the preliminary heats.

While registration for the 2022 competition won't open until February, it's never too early to start thinking of your presentation. For some inspiration, have a look at 2020's top three finishers. Presentations from each of the 10 finalists can be seen on our YouTube channel.
