Building an inclusive community

Dalhousie is committed to growing the number of diverse scholars pursuing graduate degrees at the university. We encourage you to complete the self-identification section of the scholarship application. This information supports our efforts to prioritize your application in the evaluation processes for major awards. 

In particular, we are working to ensure access for students of African Nova Scotian and Mi’kmaq decent. To help build a pathway for these students, each year we reserve Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarships at the master’s and doctoral level for eligible African Nova Scotian and Mi’kmaq applicants.

We also offer dedicated scholarships, including the African Nova Scotian Graduate ScholarshipJames Robinson Johnston Graduate Entrance Scholarship for African Canadians, and the Indigenous Graduate Scholarship, which you will find among the funding opportunities below.
