Dal Computers Need a Dal NetID
- See the online instructions to activate your NetID and set your password.
- Use any lab computer in the university.
All of the computer equipment in the labs is connected to an alarm system that is monitored by Dalhousie Security. Removing equipment will trigger the alarm.
Questions about computer operation should be directed to Jeremy Sutherland in Room HA32 (weekdays 9:30 to 5:00).
Sexton Help Desk
The Sexton Help Desk (902-494-3139) is located next to the circulation desk in the Sexton Library (third floor, B Building). The IT Help Desk website lists its services and hours. For online assistance, e-mail email@example.com. If your computer needs repair (malware, virus removal, etc.), it will be forwarded to Client Services on the Studley Campus.
If you notice a hardware or software problem with a Windows computer, go to the computer's Troubleshooting window and send an e-mail message to University Computing and Information Services. To report a problem with a Macintosh computer, contact Jeremy Sutherland. Include your name, the date, the computer number, and the problem. If necessary, the problem will be reported to UCIS.
The university's IT Services department provides some free software to faculty and students. Go to the Software Download page and log in.
