Able After Dal career transition program

The Student Accessibility Centre and Career Services will soon be launching a new program called "Able After Dal," a career transition program for students with disabilities at any stage on the path to employment. This includes students who are exploring experience-based learning (e.g. Co-op positions or internships), part-time or summer jobs, or post-graduation career opportunities.

Able After Dal will offer students a variety of programming, resources, and information about workplace rights and accommodations, opportunities to engage with inclusive employers, and connections with Student Access Advisors and Career Advisors who can support you in taking next steps towards your goals.

More information about Able After Dal will be announced soon, so stay tuned!

Accessibility & Employment: A Panel Discussion With Employers & Students

In February 2024, the Student Accessibility Centre hosted a discussion regarding accessibility in the workplace. The panel included representatives from Lime Connect, Bell, BMO, Government of Canada, IBM, as well as Dalhousie students discussing employment opportunities and accessible career resources. The conversation highlighted employers committed to recruiting individuals with disabilities (visible or invisible), removing barriers, and ensuring an inclusive work environment. It also featured Dalhousie students with experience navigating disability on their path to career readiness.
