Scarlett Smith is a 4th year nursing student and varsity soccer player at Dalhousie University. She is speaking out about mental illness and how an athelete's mental toughness can only shield them from mental health problems for so long. She says "A belief exists that when an athlete steps on the court, field, or ice they flick a switch and the only thing on their mind is the game. Sometimes this just isn’t an option".
