Entrance Scholarship

Value: $3000 with multiple awards each year
Program: Bachelor of Computer Science and Bachelor of Applied Computer Science in the Faculty of Computer Science
Eligibility: Entrance directly from high school

Information technology is transforming modern business, accelerating discovery in science, revolutionizing medicine, and expanding the reach of social enterprises. The capacity to design and build great software is a key component in a computer science degree. This first-year entrance scholarship is a way for us to recognize students who have already begun to develop their passion for technology and computer science skills.

Examples to demonstrate this passion might include:

  • Development of a website or database for an organization
  • Using social media to promote a cause
  • Leadership empowered by a command of technology
  • Participation in groups working with technology
  • Blogging on various topics in the ICT industry
  • Teaching others how to solve problems using technology
  • Participation in technology-focused events

How to apply

If you have not applied to a Computer Science program at Dalhousie University you are not eligible for this award. Please submit your application to Dalhousie University at www.dal.ca/apply before applying.

You can apply for more than one Faculty of Computer Science entrance scholarship, but must complete a separate application for each. To learn about your scholarship eligibility, visit http://cs.dal.ca/EntranceScholarships.

This application will include a video submission. Please be prepared to record and share a link to your video. Video submissions will be accepted in the form of a link to YouTube, Vimeo or a cloud drive. Please make your video link accessible to anyone who clicks on the link.
