Dalhousie University offered a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science in 1980, introducing computing science to Dal. In 1982, the Technical University of Nova Scotia opens the School of Computer Science, offering a Bachelor of Computer Science. In 1997, The Technical University of Nova Scotia and Dalhousie University merge and the new Faculty of Computer Science is established. Two years later, a building is created on campus just for this Faculty.
FCS is the largest computer science unit in the Maritimes, in terms of both faculty and students. Whether our alumni decided to take their undergrad degree and run with it or go on to graduate school, they are all making their own impact on Canada and on the world.
