The beauty of art and science
For over 15 years, the Faculty of Science has produced the Science As Art calendar, a collection of striking photographs and images that encourage people to recognize the beauty of science taking place in labs, field work, daily routines and travels. Each year, alumni, faculty, staff, and students submit their own works of science art for use in the calendar, which is then mailed to thousands of Dal Science alumni.

Calendars are available for purchase for $20 – contact science@dal.ca to order or visit the Faculty of Science Dean's Office in January 2026 to buy in-person. All proceeds support the Faculty of Science Experiential Learning and Equipment Fund.
