Dean of Science, Chuck Macdonald
Dalhousie University, Canada
First, I would like to say how thrilled I am to be starting as new Dean of the the Faculty of Science at Dalhousie. It is a true honour to be serving at one of the top science univerities in Canada. I have heard nothing but positive things and cannot wait to work with you all. I am excited to continue to enhance the academic experience within the Dal Science community.
The past 18 months were met with a unique set of challenges, and from what I can see, the Faculty of Science perservered in the best possible way.
The health and safety of our community remains our top priority and we are following the provincial guidelines as we return to classes and campus. We acknowledge some students may be ready for a full return and others may feel this is a time of significant apprehension and uncertainty. Our goal is to make this transition seamless and safe.
My goal as Dean of Science is to support each member of our community to achieve their ambition and to empower our next generation of scientists to reach their goals. Now more than ever, we need well-trained and well-rounded scientists more than ever, and I call upon our students, faculty, staff and alumni to make your mark.
Whether you’re a future Dal Science student, a current undergraduate or graduate student, a faculty or staff member, an alumnus, or friend of the Faculty, I hope you stay in touch with us. Follow us on social media and stay informed by reading the latest news about our achievements, or by attending an upcoming event. I’m looking forward to connecting with you and wish you all the best.
i want to express my gratitute for all of your continued patience and hard work as we continue to navigate this new school year.
I wish you lots of luck as you set out to begin the new academic year!
