Planning Your Science Experience

Following my academic interests while at University was always an adventure.  At first, I wasn’t sure how to go about it, but I kept my goals in sight and asked professors for guidance when needed.  The best thing you can do is formulate a plan for your studies and to get informed about the best way to achieve the plan.  As an academic advisor, I’m here to support you in realizing your academic plan so that you are prepared to succeed.

From lab tech to master’s student to PhD, with a few minutes working in industry, applying to vet school, and writing the MCAT, I spent the last three years of my research career helping to develop the Medical Sciences program. I became the Program Coordinator in 2014, which evolved into a multidisciplinary role, including advising…my favourite part of the job!

For a long time, I thought that university was not for me. I eventually enrolled in a philosophy program in my native France and discovered, to my great surprise, that I loved the academic environment. Since then, I moved from philosophy to logic, computer science, and, ultimately, to mathematics.
