The Faculty of Health Professions congratulates Dr. Kathleen MacMillan, the 2014 recipient of the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing’s (CASN) Award for Academic Administrative Excellence.
This award is granted annually to a leading academic nurse administrator who is using innovation, emerging technologies and new approaches to education and research to overcome the challenges facing modern nursing schools.
Dr. MacMillan was nominated by her School of Nursing and CDHA colleagues in recognition of her focus on relationship building and commitment to working collaboratively with faculty, staff and partners in the pursuit of excellence in all School of Nursing endeavours.
During her time as Director, Dr. MacMillan’s steady hand and determination have been critical to the relaunch of the Nursing PhD program, the implementation of a new governance structure, the establishment of the virtual visiting scholar program and the revamping of the undergraduate program, among others.
Congratulations Dr. MacMillan on your success and thank you to Drs. Marilyn MacDonald, Ruth Martin-Meisner, Gail Tomblin-Murphy and Mary Ellen Gurnham for taking the initiative to recognize Dr. MacMillan’s accomplishments.
