Jane Francis, a student in the Mi'kmaq/Maliseet BSW Program, was this year's recipient of the Grand Chief Donald Marshall Senior Scholarship Award. Jane extended a special thank you to Professor Nancy MacDonald (Social Work) for being a wonderful professor in the two classes she had taken with her, and for a letter of reference which led to receiving the award. Jane (pictured left with Catherine Blewett, Deputy Minister of Aboriginal Affairs) received her award in a Treaty Day ceremony on October 1, 2013.
