Amira Tawashy (MScOT’12) is nothing if not a multi-tasker. She is a Dal Faculty of Health instructor, an occupational therapist with the neurosurgery and assistive technology portfolios of Nova Scotia Health, a consultant to the World Health Organization and a member of both the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals and the Wheelchair Research Team. She is also the guest speaker for the 20th Kelly Bang Memorial Lectureship happening Sept. 21 at Dalhousie.

When Masters of Physiotherapy grad Gavin Noble completed a recent clinical placement at the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. John’s, he remembers experiencing feelings of pride and déjà vu.

Congratulations to all of our Dal Health Class of 2023! To celebrate Spring Convocation, we chatted with students from across Dal Health. David Bowman is graduating from the School of Physiotherapy with a combined MSc Physiotherapy and MSc Rehabilitation Research.

The Diversity Exchange was created when School of Physiotherapy assistant professor Dr. Caitlin McArthur was looking for images for presentations for her class and noticed there was a big lack of diversity in currently available stock photos. She says they were mainly white people who looked affluent and in good health, and were often doing ineffective exercises or exercises incorrectly. It became clear she wanted to create an ethnoculturally diverse image library for her and others in the profession so diverse students could be represented.
