Second year Architecture students, Samuel Walther-Battista, Alex Vanderlee and Zheng Li, placed 3rd in the Evolve Sustainable Design Competition with their project, a reinvention of a Toronto community library, titled “Ode to the Portuguese Islands.”
The third annual Evolve sustainable design competition gave post-secondary students in architecture, engineering and related programs across Canada the opportunity to work together in teams to design a net-zero energy and water-wise community library.
The students were awarded $1,500 as well as a matching donation to Dalhousie’s School of Architecture, thanks to the generous support of competition sponsor RBC.
The students attended the gala in Toronto to receive the prize. This travel was in part funded by the Dalhousie Fund, which is intended to provide students with opportunities for an enhanced educational experience. Thank you to our alumni supporters for making this possible.
