Certificate in the Foundations of Applied Data‑Based Computing

Learn about the dedicated resources and supports in place here for our Master of Applied Computer Science students.

We understand that planning too far into the future right now can be challenging. We also understand that you are eager to develop your skills, knowledge and experience through the Master of Applied Computer Science (MACS).

With that in mind, we have developed an option that enables you to obtain a Certificate in the event that you are unable to complete your full MACS program for whatever reason.

The Certificate in the Foundations of Applied Data-Based Computing provides you with recognition that you have completed the core elements of the MACS program by taking the following courses:

  • CSCI 5100 Written and Oral Communications Skills
  • CSCI 5308 Advanced Topics in Software Development
  • CSCI 5408 Data Management, Warehousing, and Analytics

You can apply for the Certificate in the Foundations of Applied Data-Based Computing once you have completed the required courses listed above. Email graduate@cs.dal.ca to start the process.
