Program highlights:
- Learn about examples of Dalhousie's efforts in the area of transportation, like our campus bike centre and our anti-idling guidelines. On April 1 2011, Dalhousie entered into a car share venture with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Dalhousie members now have access to two 'WeCars'.
- Dalhousie is applying sustainable design principles to new buildings as well as to upgrades of existing buildings. In September 2010, Dalhousie opened its newest and greenest building, the Mona Campbell building. In 2011, Dalhousie passed a new green building policy which states that all new buildings should be LEED gold.
- The Office of Sustainability has recently completed a waste management guide for the ICI sector in Nova Scotia and created natural environment policy and plan.
- A comprehensive climate change plan [PDF - 3 MB] which includes mitigation and adaption strategies has been released along with a greenhouse gas inventory for the University.
