Tuesday’s Bicentennial Launch offered a journey through Dalhousie University’s 200-year history, with the poetry of George Elliott Clarke as its guide. Featuring artistic talents from across the Dal community, the event was a showcase of the university’s two centuries of achievement with an eye towards its promising future.

Fountain School Administrative Officer Lesley Brechin (BA’90) didn’t set out to create a legacy at Dal, but she is doing exactly that. Her dedicated work and philanthropy to the Fountain School of Performing Arts is shaping cultural space on campus and in the community.

During his lifetime, the music of Austrian composor Franz Schubert was most often performed at small gatherings dubbed "Schubertiades." This weekend, students in Dal's Fountain School of Performing Arts will bring the Schubertiade into the 21st century with a special performance event in the community, aligned with Dal's 200th anniversary.
