Maya Venkataraman, Soccer

Fourth-year midfielder Maya Venkataraman is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Maya led the Tigers to a 3-0 victory over the Mount Allison Mounties.

She scored all three of the Tigers goals to earn Subway Player of the Game honours Sunday afternoon in Halifax on Wickwire Field.

She is currently third in the AUS in scoring with seven goals.

A medical sciences student, Maya is from Summerland, B.C.

Andrew Shewfelt, Hockey

Third-year forward Andrew Shewfelt is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.

Andrew led the Tigers to an overtime win and loss in New Brunswick over the weekend.

A constant offensive threat, Andrew had three shots on net in the Tigers 3-2 win over the Moncton Aigles Bleus Friday night.

He scored two of the Tigers three goals in their 4-3 shootout loss to the U SPORTS No. 2 ranked UNB Reds in Fredericton on Saturday night.

A native of Dartmouth, N.S., Andrew is a science student.
