Connor Stanford is a third-year Commerce co-op student originally from Oakville, Ontario. Connor chose Dalhousie for his undergraduate degree because he felt that the Commerce co-op program was the right fit for him, and he was excited to explore the city of Halifax.
Connor is an avid snowboarder and cyclist, so he has been very excited to explore Nova Scotia’s beautiful trails and hills. His favourite location in Halifax is Point Pleasant Park. He says, “the endless trails and ocean views are the perfect place to go for an afternoon cycle!” Connor’s favourite snowboarding destination is the French Alps. He plans to spend a winter there after graduation to get in as much snowboarding as possible.
Connor really enjoys the views and landscape of the Dalhousie campus. He likes to hang out in the Studley Quad because of the greenery surrounded by some of Dal’s oldest and most iconic buildings. Connor recommends the Quad for anyone who is a spike-ball enthusiast. His preferred study location on campus is the top floor of the Life Sciences Centre, which he says has an unbeatable view of Halifax and the ocean.
For his co-op work term Connor worked at the software company Proposify as a product marketing intern. He thoroughly enjoyed the experience because he was able to work on a variety of marketing, design, writing and research projects. An important lesson he learned while at Proposify is, “it is okay to make mistakes. A mistake may not seem good in the moment, but it allows us to truly grow and improve!”
