Jenna Silverberg: A student profile

Posted by Mallory Rae on August 31, 2021 in News

Jenna Silverberg is a second-year CRMBA student at the Rowe School of Business. Jenna serves as president of the Corporate Residency MBA Society and is part of the team that won the Institute for Advanced Financial Planners (IAFP) Case Competition this year.

Originally from Calgary, Jenna completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Kinesiology at Dalhousie, where she was also captain of the Track and Field Team. Jenna loves Dalhousie and Halifax, particularly the beaches, farmers markets and Sunday nights at the Lower Deck.

Jenna’s favourite course so far in the CRMBA program is Advanced Corporate Finance with Dr. Rick Nason. She loved the small class size and the level of interaction with Dr. Nason and her classmates.

Jenna is spending her corporate residency as a student analyst with the Client Strategy Team at CIBC Capital Markets in Toronto. The team leads the strategic direction of global investment banking, corporate banking and global markets. She has learned a lot about the different lines of business at CIBC, how the bank operates, the dimensions and relationships with clients and how they all function together. Jenna has a passion for collaborating, inspiring and empowering and appreciates the opportunity to bring these qualities to her team at CIBC.

For incoming students, Jenna's advice is to spend as much time on campus as you can. The environment and opportunity for networking and conversation is so valuable. Her favourite study locations on campus are the Wallace McCain Learning Commons and the Killam – who doesn’t love a good library?
