Association of Black Social Workers Bursary

Purpose:

ABSW is a volunteer charitable organization consisting of Black Social Workers and Human Service Workers throughout the Province. ABSW was originally formed in Montreal in 1977 with a group starting in Nova Scotia in 1979 consisting of only four participants. Since then, ABSW was reactivated in 1987, and now has a growing membership. ABSW is connected to the National Association of Black Social Workers Inc., which was formed in 1968 where its' head office is in Washington, D.C.

Conditions:

This bursary is provided to assist full and part time African Canadian students who are attending the Dalhousie School of Social Work and who are studying towards a social work degree.
