For the second year in a row the Faculty of Health Professions had an outstanding turnout for the Homecoming Fun Run, winning the President’s Prize of $500! The winnings will go toward an FHP celebration in the days ahead—please watch for details. FHP also had its own internal competition among our College and Schools—and based on the excellent participation of alumni, faculty, staff and students, and overall team spirit--the School of Occupational Therapy is the winner of the FHP Challenge! Congratulations OT, for the second year in a row! Your $500 is on the way for an event of your choosing.
Thanks to everyone who turned out on Saturday morning bright and early to make the Fun Run a memorable event. Honourable mention goes to the School of Physiotherapy which not only had excellent participation, but a finalist in the top 3 runners: physio student Erik Merchant. The School of Social Work made good use of the Fun Run route to promote social justice throughout downtown Halifax; Health Sciences students showed off their knowledge of anatomy with x-rays of various bones taped to the corresponding parts of their bodies; and once again Clinical Vision Science went all out with costumes: the Minion-like eyeballs stuck to their capes were particularly eye-catching!!
The Faculty of Health Professions congratulates all teams for a stellar performance and thanks the team captains and other volunteers for all their hard work. We hope everyone enjoyed the second annual FHP Fun Run/Walk Challenge and we hope to see you out next year!
