Who has influenced you the most?
Bethany McCormick, Sr Director, Performance, Planning and Accountability; Dr. Robert Gilbert, School of Health Sciences / Faculty of Graduate Studies.
How and where do you find inspiration?
I am fortunate to be able to travel fairly extensively. I often find inspiration during my travels, seeing how people across the world deal with problems with such ingenuity. It always inspires me when I return home to tackle problems from a different angle.
What values are you committed to?
Accountability, transparency and integrity.
What do you do to live a balanced life?
I run, hike, travel and spend time with family and friends.
Why have you volunteered your time to be a mentor?
My thesis supervisor, Dr. Robert Gilbert, was the greatest influence of my entire academic career. He pushed me to be my absolute best, but he also supported me throughout the entire process so that I always felt I could succeed. I credit his mentorship with my current professional success (and definitely any academic success I may have realized). Rob has inspired me to try to give back to students, and new staff in the same way; this mentoring opportunity is one such way.
