Invitation to participate: Developing Dalhousie’s Research Data Management Services
Research Data Management is being strongly encouraged by the Tri-Council granting agencies (CIHR, NSERC & SSHRC). Do you have a plan for sharing your data to meet funder requirements?
The Dalhousie Libraries are conducting a survey of faculty at all ranks in the sciences and applied sciences disciplines, specifically the Faculties of Agriculture, Computer Science, Engineering and Science.
The purpose of this survey is to help the Libraries develop infrastructure and educational programmes to meet the research data management needs of Dalhousie faculty in these disciplines.
Additionally, this survey is also being conducted at several other Canadian universities. We will be sharing our anonymized and anonymous data with the participating schools towards developing a greater understanding of faculty needs in these disciplines across Canada. The combined results may also assist in developing national initiatives for research data management.
This research is being conducted by Sarah Stevenson (Scholarly Communications & Physical Sciences Librarian – Killam Memorial Library, 902-494-1325) and Erin MacPherson (Reference & Instruction Librarian – MacRae Library, 902-893-3296) and has been approved by the Research Ethics Board at Dalhousie (REB #2016-3781)
The survey is open from March 1-15: https://surveys.dal.ca/opinio/s?s=30659
