Eleven graduate students will battle it out during Dal’s 3 Minute Thesis finals on Monday, March 20.

Earlier this week, the first round of Dal’s annual 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition — the preliminary heats — took place, with 11 graduate students from across the university earning a spot in the 3MT finals. Coming up next Monday, March 20, at 6 p.m., the finals will be held live and in person in the McInnes Room of the Dalhousie Student Union Building.

The event will challenge participating students to present their research in three minutes or less for a chance to win cash prizes and compete at the regional 3MT competition hosted by Dal this June.

The finals will celebrate the diverse research Dal’s graduate students are engaged in — from using microbes to prevent a painful side-effect of chemotherapy to assessing the impact of gender-based violence interventions in Ghana. Eight master’s and three PhD students will compete, representing seven different faculties across the university.

Members of the Dal community and beyond are invited to attend the event. Visit the 3MT finals event page for more details.
