Athletes of the Week (ending Oct. 21)

Rachel Shin, Swimming

Third-year swimmer Rachel Shin led the Tigers to a first place team finish at UNB’s Amby Legere Invitational swim meet over the weekend.

Shin placed first in the 100m butterfly, 400m IM, 200m backstroke, 200m medley relay and 400m medley relay events. She also placed second in the 200m butterfly.

A third-year science student, Rachel is from Toronto, ON.

David Sharpe, Swimming

Fifth-year swimmer David Sharpe won five events at UNB’s Amby Legere Invitational swim meet over the weekend, helping the Tigers to a first place team finish.

The 2012 Olympian claimed victory in the 200m IM, 50m butterfly, 400m IM and 400m medley relay events.

Sharpe also placed second in the 100m freestyle, 200m medley relay and 200m backstroke events.

A Halifax native, Sharpe is a fifth-year science student.
