NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards
USRAs are meant to nurture student interest and fully develop their potential for a research career in the natural sciences and engineering (NSE). They are also meant to encourage students to undertake graduate studies in these fields by providing research work experience that complements their studies in an academic setting.
2022 Recipients - Elena Milito and Kailyn Hanke
Elena Milito is a 2nd year student in Environmental Science and Sustainability.
Project: Controls on CO2 fluxes in Nova Scotian Rivers.

Kailyn Hanke is a 3rd year student in Microbiology and Immunology.
Project: Genomic fingerprints to predict effectiveness of forest acidification mitigation.
Kailyn will work with Shannon Sterling.
