The Murdena and Albert Marshall Bursary honours the lifelong commitment of Elders Murdena and Albert Marshall to education, cultural knowledge, and community wellbeing.
Established through the support of donors, the bursary provides financial assistance to Indigenous students from Atlantic Canada who are enrolled in architecture, planning, and engineering programs at Dalhousie University. Inspired by the principle of Etuaptmumk (Two-Eyed Seeing), the bursary supports students as they pursue their educational goals and prepare to make meaningful contributions to their professions and communities.

The Impact of Your Support
The Bursary helps reduce financial barriers for Indigenous students pursuing studies in architecture, planning, and engineering. For recipients, the award represents more than financial assistance. It is an investment in their potential and a recognition of the perspectives, experiences, and knowledge they bring to their fields of study.
For architecture student and bursary recipient Ardena Paul of Paqtnkek Mi'kmaq Nation, the award provided both practical support and encouragement.

Paul is pursuing a career in architecture with a goal of helping create space for Indigenous voices and perspectives within the profession. Eligibility and Application
The Bursary is open to Indigenous students from Atlantic Canada who are enrolled in architecture, planning, or engineering programs at Dalhousie University.
Applications are administered through Dalhousie's Student Awards and Financial Aid office.
