The Province

As most Dalhousie architecture and planning students are from beyond Atlantic Canada, let's start with the province. Nova Scotia is surrounded by ocean, with 3,000 miles of coastline. It also has the Annapolis Valley (with a microclimate for fruit trees and wineries), the Bay of Fundy's 15-metre tides (below), the South Shore (with fishing villages and industrial towns), Lunenburg (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Eastern Shore (rugged and rocky), Cape Breton Island, and much more.
