Plant Science student honored with a Faculty leadership award

Posted by Stephanie Rogers on March 30, 2015 in News

A Faculty leadership award is presented to a student in good academic standing in each Dalhousie faculty during the annual Dalhousie Impact Awards.  These students exemplify the highest level of passion for their discipline, take initiative in creating new opportunities and encourage their peers to engage in faculty events. Faculty Leadership Award winners positively impact other students in their Faculty and the reputation of their Faculty outside of the classroom.

The 2015 award for the Faculty of Agriculture was presented to Qi Ming (Hugh) Lu, Plant Science, Fujian Province, China.

Dr. David Gray and Hugh Lu

Hugh has displayed a true love for the Faculty of Agriculture, his program and living in Canada.  He has become involved in countless campus events and fundraisers, worked as an Orientation leader and Woodsmen Weekend volunteer.  He has participated in two East Coast Student Leadership Conferences and has travelled to many provinces to improve his English and French language skills and is currently studying Spanish. Hugh also received a Student Advancement in Leadership certificate.

Congratulations Hugh!
