Discovery Day 2013: Help recruit agriculture'€™s next class of leaders

Posted by stephanie rogers on September 30, 2013 in News

Friday, November 15 is Discovery Day on the Dal Agricultural Campus and we want your help to create an extraordinary experience for our visitors. Students are the core of our faculty and campus and our dean/principal David Gray believes the 120+ Discovery Day visitors will feel the difference our people make to the overall student experience. “This campus is well-known for its people who roll up their sleeves and simply make important things happen,” says David. “If we take that same approach with Discovery Day, I have no doubt our enrollments will show it.”

As our faculty’s largest annual recruitment event, last year’s Discovery Day brought 84 prospective students and 46 parents to campus. More than 38 percent applied that day. This year, we plan to ramp up the energy by finding new and interesting ways the whole campus community can help ‘seal the deal.’ Details are coming soon for how you can participate but whether you’re offering one of our high-energy, interactive program sessions, participating on the parents’ information panel or just on your way out for lunch, there will be a way for you to help.

Since you’re lucky enough to know this campus and faculty so well, you know what makes us special. We’ve often said that when people come here to visit, they just ‘get it.’ So, who better to show off the spirit and magic of this place than you? Stay tuned for details on how you can help, or connect with Mandy McDonald at the Registry, this year’s Discovery Day coordinator.
