Dr. Claude Caldwell was recently selected to receive an Honourary Life membership Award from the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association. This award is presented to person who, by distinguished services to the association, has contributed to the betterment of Canadian agriculture.
Caldwell was also selected to receive the Clark-Newman-Clayton Award. This award is presented only to individuals who have made exceptional contribution to Canada’s pedigreed seed production and to Canadian agriculture through research, plant breeding and administration.
The recipient is able to name a post graduate student to receive a $2500 bursary. Dr. Caldwell has selected Libiao Gao, a student studying comparative aspects of camelina and canola seed at the Faculty of Agriculture to receive the bursary for this award.
The awards will be presented at the Canadian Seed Growers Association annual general meeting in Halifax, July 12, 2013.
