Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Agriculture will celebrate its annual Convocation this Friday, May 3^rd, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Langille Athletic Centre with 219 students scheduled to participate.

Celebrations begin Thursday, May 2nd at 5:30 pm with a Baccalaureate Service in Cumming Hall followed by the Graduation Banquet at 6:00 pm in Jenkins Hall.   The banquet is a highlight of graduation celebrations and provides an opportunity for members of the graduating class to be recognized with Distinguished Graduate Awards. 

Distinguished Graduate Awards will be presented to Robyn McCallum, Tabusintac, NB; Paul Manning, Canning, NS; Sarah Harding, Summerville, NB and Kevin Morin, Ottawa, Ontario.

Distinguished Graduate Awards are designed to express the Faculty’s acknowledgment and appreciation to graduating students, who have, through their time, energy, talent and leadership enriched the campus community during their studies without neglecting academic pursuits. Recipients are recognized for contributions made through their involvement over time in multiple activities, including, but not limited to, student government, campus activities, community service, sport and recreation, internationalization, or other campus programs.

The Noel Enman Memorial Award, instituted in 1984, is presented annually to a technician or technology graduate whose personality and fellowship has contributed to student life and activities thereby gaining the respect of students and faculty. This award will be presented to Katlyn McCormack, Belleville, NB.

“We are very proud of our students,” said Assistant Dean Students Keltie Jones.  “We look forward to celebrating their accomplishments through all of our Convocation events this week.”
