Dr. Richard Florizone

Dr. Richard Florizone is the 11th president of Dalhousie. He brings a unique mix of academic and professional skills, gained through extensive experience with universities, companies and government in Canada and abroad.

Dr. Florizone was formerly vice-president, finance and resources at the University of Saskatchewan, where he was also a Policy Fellow in the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. He has been a senior adviser to the World Bank Group's International Finance Corporation in Washington, D.C., and served in prior roles with Bombardier Aerospace, Cambridge University and the Boston Consulting Group.

Through his experience in a broad range of sectors, Dr. Florizone has cultivated a strong belief in partnerships and a capacity for unifying organizations around a clear vision and strategy.

Dr. Florizone obtained his PhD in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also holds a MSc in Physics and a BSc in Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
