Alireza Siadat is a PhD student in the Department of Civil and Resource Engineering at Dalhousie University. He is currently researching seismic performance of masonry structures under the supervision of Dr. Yi Liu, as well as teaching fundamental engineering courses.

Before coming to Dalhousie, Alireza’s research focussed on bridge engineering. During his B.Sc. degree he was awarded honorary admission to graduate school at the Sharif University of Technology. He believes that quality education is key to a community’s success.

Alireza has always been involved in infrastructural research and industrial activities. He worked as a structural and seismic design engineer of petrochemical and heavy industrial projects in Iran as a design team member for reputable international companies, including Sazeh Pardazi Iran Consulting Engineers Co.

Alireza was also head of the civil engineering department at ACECR’s branch in Qazvin, Iran, and founded the alumni association of the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents in Qazvin, a semi-governmental educational organization that has junior and senior high schools in all cities of Iran.
