Admission requirements
As a current Canadian high school applicant residing in Nova Scotia you must meet our general admissions requirements. If you do not meet these requirements, you may be eligible for one of our upgrading or pathway programs.
Acceptable courses for admission vary by province and territory curriculum, those for Nova Scotia are listed in the chart below.

*Depending on your program of interest you will require Academic English and either Academic Math or Pre-calculus Math.
International Baccalaureate
We will also review credentials obtained from the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Dalhousie may also award university credit for selected IB Higher Level (HL) courses.
Advanced Placement
Students who have taken courses as a part of the Advanced Placement (AP) program may be eligible for university transfer credits towards their program.
