Where should I start looking?

It's probably best to begin within walking distance of Dal's main campus. See Walk to Campus for a helpful map of the city and the campus. If you need to look further out, see Transit & Transportation to learn more about getting around town

If you are a full-time student during the academic year, your student fees include a UPass – an unlimited transit pass to get around town easily.

Keep in mind, apartments closer to campus tend to be more expensive than those a little further away, so if you are comfortable travelling by bus, you can save on rent costs.
