This is a 3-hour interactive workshop, by an award-winning scholar, teacher, and former dean, on all aspects of academic life: from personal mission to best practices around teaching, research and service, how to manage email and student interactions, and achieve some work-life balance.
More information and registration are available at https://events-tm.dal.ca/workshop.php?id=4200. (Inquiries: healthy@dal.ca)
2. Managing Disruptive Behaviours in the Classroom (in person).
In this interactive workshop, Dal’s Ombudsperson and Social Worker will cover topics such as recognizing and responding to dangerous, disruptive, and difficult behaviour you may encounter, how to set yourself up for success in the classroom, scenarios to practice new skills and learn from each other and finally, discuss further resources to assist you and your students.
