There will be a planned power outage Saturday, November 19 to perform legislated high voltage maintenance work. This will take up to 15 hours beginning at 6 a.m.
Affected buildings are as follows:
Buildings which will have no power:
(Access to these buildings will be restricted during the outages)
- Chemistry /Macdonald Buildings
- Studley Gym
Buildings where essential services only will be supplied by emergency generator:
(Access to these buildings will be restricted during the outages)
- Killam Library (except the Killam Computer Data Centre which will have full back-up power). The library will be closed.
- Kenneth C. Rowe Management Building
Buildings which will be fully functioning with backup power (but noticeable generators will be running):
- Central Services Building (CSB)
- Risley Hall
- Howe Hall
- LeMarchant Place (LMP)
- Security House
As in past outages, re-routing power from other buildings or backup generators may be available on a case-by-case basis for critical equipment. Facilities Management can also assist in correct shutdown procedures in advance of the outage.
