Participants required for user study

Posted by Computer Science research student on April 21, 2021 in General Announcements

We are recruiting participants who have experienced using smart home devices such as smart light, Google Home, Amazon Alexa Echo, smart garage door opener, smart TV, smart kitchen appliances (excluding smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and activity trackers) for at least 3 months. We are looking for participants who are part of the wider Dalhousie University community, including students, staff/faculty, and friends.

The study aims to evaluate how the users are making the decision to buy a smart home device. You will have a virtual meeting over Zoom application with a researcher to go over the study details, give consent to do the study, and fill in a background questionnaire. Then, you will complete sets of tasks by looking at a few pictures and answering questions. The session will end with a brief interview.

The study will take about 90 minutes to complete. Compensation is $20 for participation in the study.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Majid Nasirinejad (majid@cs.dal.ca).
